Under the squeezing action of the pressure rollers, the felt absorbs the water squeezed out from the wet paper web, while simultaneously imparting smoothness to the paper surface. Different press structures have significantly different requirements for technical parameters such as felt dewatering capacity, air permeability, and felt basis weight when producing different paper products.
