Four Ways improve the Smoothness of Paper

Change the third stage press to reverse press, which reduce the difference of the smoothness on both sides of the paper.
Use the calender properly. Since the calender roll has not been replaced for a long time, the roll is deformed greatly, and the smoothness difference of the pressed paper is also large.
Cooling by calendering roll and blowpipe, Operator can adjust the temperature of roller surface to keep the uniformity of thickness and smoothness of paper. After the pressure is increased, the partial pressure is excessively heated to cause the roller body to expand. If the operator control the deformation of the roller by cooling the air, the effect of the thermal expansion of the roller can be reduced or eliminated.
Use the cold cylinder reasonably to increase the moisture of the paper into the calender. By adjusting the water inflow of the cold cylinder, the surface temperature of the cold cylinder is kept around 5~6℃, and the water content of the paper cylinder is appropriately raised. This method can improve the smoothness of the paper.
